My NCLEX Story: By Angela Hesse, LPN

After completing the Practical Nursing (PN) program at Saint Paul College, I was able to take the NCLEX-PN examination with confidence. I took the examination within two weeks of graduation and was successful on the first attempt.

Throughout the PN program I listened to the guidance of the instructors and I was engaged during lectures and during clinical rotations. Being engaged during lectures and during clinical rotations were essential to learning and retaining knowledge and in applying knowledge. I chose engagement and application over just memorization of information.

ATI was an extremely useful resource that helped me to better understand NCLEX type questions and to correctly answer them. Reading the assessments and using repetition technique helped me to grasp the concepts, content, and strategies that I needed to be successful on the NCLEX-PN examination. I also utilize YouTube in my preparation for the NCLEX exam. Both ATI and YouTube were helpful to me in learning and understanding such an overwhelming amount of information on complex topics.
